I should have stayed home and curled up next to the fire when the weather forecasters called this month Junuary. Its been cold and windy, only about 47 or 50 degrees F here. Yesterday Emily had a dentist appointment in Seattle. Normally it takes about 1 1/2 hours to drive there. It was raining and I knew it was going to be at least a 2 hour drive. I called the dentist office and told the scheduler that we were on the road but probably wouldn't make it to the 10:30 appointment because of the rai… Continue

1 I waited patiently for Jehovah; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. Psalms 40:1 (ASV) My daughter Emily cannot talk. She can make noises at times, however even when she wants to make a noise there are times when she just can't. Yesterday we were watching The Heffalump Movie (Winnie the Pooh) and the little elephant, named Lumpy, was trying to call his mum. He was having a difficult time because he couldn't make the sound through his trunk like his mother could. Occasionally during th… Continue

Well, Emily's back has been evaluated by the orthopedic surgeon. The doctor said that he wouldn't be able to totally correct the curve (Lordosis - goes in toward the bellie button), but he would do what he could. He said it is a difficult surgery and would take at least 5 hours to complete. The recovery will be easy if she doesn't get an infection. The office will call with the date. I study my Bible every morning. I've read it through many times and this year I decided that I would read the bo… Continue

Slow day today. We have a nurse here today for Emily so I get a break. I need to clean upstairs and get my office area into shape. I started the big clean and then got sidetracked, which I welcomed. Today is the day for the rest of the big clean up. One more week till Emily's appointment about her back. Emily, who is 13, has severe cerebral palsy as well as a condition called Arthrogryposis, a joint an limb disability. Most of her orthopedic problems are from the waist down, including her back… Continue

We need prayer in the following areas:
1. Emily stays well so she can have the corrective surgery. Continued health, no infections after the surgery.
2. I stay healthy and rested during this time and during the hospital stay.
3. Dad and little sister will have a good time doing things together while Emily is in the hospital.
I just read your blog and want to encourage you. That God who made all things can do anything. There is nothing that he cannot heal. Trust in the Lord. Love, Mary Ann
