Welcome to the website of the West Broward Community Church. We are a growing church family, located in the western part of Fort Lauderdale, near the Cities of Weston, Southwest Ranches, Pembroke Pines, and Cooper City. As followers of Christ, we are commited to meeting the needs of, and build relationships with, our wonderfully diverse community. We are seeking to build relationships with families and youth around our community and would love to see you join us. Reverend E. Jay Sowers:

Pastor Jay grew up Roman Catholic in Columbus, Ohio, after high school he served five years in the U.S. Navy, then went on to graduate from the University of California, Long Beach, and later earned two Masters degrees from Calvin and Western Theological Seminaries. Prior to joining W.B.C.C. in 2006 Pastor Jay spent six years as a Specialized Interim Pastor for member churches of the Reformed Church in America (RCA) and Christian Reformed Church (CRC). He also served as Senior Pastor of Bethel Reformed Church from 1986-1999 and four years as youth pastor at Trinity Reformed, both in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
P.J. is joined by his wife, Beth is a nurse. They have three adult children; Emily, Andy and Eric. Both Emily and Eric are married and live in Michigan while Andy is single and recently moved to California.

The Government says that one letter represents three hundred peoples views. That is why we Christians need to write those letters and let our representatives know exactly what we think about every thing. Our Congressmen are there to represent the people and there views, and then to bring into existance what the people want. We are the people, we Christians need to speak up and let our voices be heard, There are more Christians in this world than non-Christians. But you wouldn't know it by the way this world has been going. That is because Christians have been quiet for too long. It is time for us to take a stand for Jesus, it is time for us to stand up and speak out. Let us be bold as lions and harmless as doves and speak out and tell our Congressmen exactly what we think and what our opinion is concerning every situation. A public “Out Cry” will motivate our representatives to defend our rights and the common decency of this Country.. Atheist are not going to take this world over, because we won't let them. The reason atheist have gotten prayer out of schools and the Ten Commandments out of Court Houses and One Nation Under GOD out of the pledge of allegiance is because they write letters to their Congressmen and let them know exactly what they want, and up to this point Christians have kept silent.. Christians are the majority in this world, lets show them that, by each and every one of us writing letters to our Congressmen about every issue that concerns us, and speak out about our views. So our Goverment will know that not everyone wants the Ten Commandments out of Court houses, etc. Please be One who will get involved and write letters to your Congressmen. We as individual human beings have the same rights and freedom of speech as every one else. We need to make our requests known, individually, so our Government will pay attention and not think it is just a church talking and write it off as something between church and state..Thank You, so much for taking the time to write those letters Please Help, One subject worth writing about as well as many others is: The children in this world, children have the right to walk down the street and not be afraid of being molested or raped or even worse. The U.S. Attorney General's Commission on Pornography concluded what common sense told us long ago, that many of those who commit sexual crimes, like rape and even worse, (far worse) crimes were heavy users of pornography. We know that pornographic materials lead no where good. Please request all Pornography, stop being sold in our stores. Please help stop these producers and sellers of pornograpy from getting rich by perverting the minds of the people in this Country. Let us stop these people from causing so much crime and perversion. All that’s needed are people who are concerned enough to get involved and to say no to pornography and take action to stop it. Dr. James Dobson, one of the Commissioners of the U.S. Attorney General’s Commission on Pornography, said, (America could rid itself of pornography in 18 months). That will happen, because we as concerned citizens are writing letters to our Government, and are demanding action from our government. By writting letters we motivate our representatives to defend our Country's Standards of Decency. Please get involved and speak out by writing letters to your Congressmen, asking them to defend our Country's Standards of Decency and have all pornographic materials removed from our stores.
