Living Gods' Healthy Lifestyle - Spirit, Soul & Body. (Picture of fruit & veg from http://www.freefoto.com

I've been looking on the internet for months now for a group like this where I could meet fellow Christians who want to be as healthy as possible and I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. We are in a constant battle and one of the oldest forms of temptation the devil uses is food. All my adult life I have been on a diet of one kind or another. I started my first diet at the age of 11 years old and I have probably lost my total body weight at least 6 times in the years that followed. And I am still overweight. I still battle daily with certain foods. I'm like the Apostle Paul, I know what to do but I just don't seem able to do it. (Romans 7:15-25.) I have been trying for years to loose weight but using the worlds systems and it doesn't work. Without taking this before God there is no way that we can live a healthily balanced lifestyle.

The bible has a lot to say about healthy living but it needs to be spirit, soul and then body. If we seek God first them the others will fall into line. The object of this group is first seek God and thereby become the healthily fit soldiers of God that we need to be.

I look forward to meeting others who want to be as heathly and fit as is possible so that we can complete the task that God has set us. Please join and share with others your tips or just come along and receive support. Our strength is in our unity.

BEFORE STARTING ANY CHANGE IN LIFESTYLE OR EXERCISE PROGRAMME IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE.

I cannot emphasise too much the need to take things slowly at first when making changes like the ones that are posted on this page. Always check with you doctor first before making any changes, particularly if you have a medical condition.

Welcome Seasons of Purpose. Please feel free to share your experience and knowledge as we are all here to learn about a healthy lifestyle. My husband is still the same weight he was when he got married which is just the right weight for his height but he also admits that he doesn't eat very healthily. It took me 18 years to get him to eat a salad but now he is trying even though he does like fried food.

I know that I don't always eat healthily as I have a tendency to comfort eat. But the Lord is dealing with this at the moment and I hope to be able to open a discussion on comfort eating because everyone does it at sometime in their lives. But it can lead to eating disorders, food addiction and even death in extreme cases.

Please feel free to leave a comment anytime.

God Bless,
Audrey xxx

I just went through all the groups and was amazed how many are on this site that I didn't know about. I NEED TO BE HERE. I can't say that I am a healthy eater like the rest of you, but I know what I should be doing. I have friends who are health ministers and have been given various health products...but I need to follow-through with what I know is right. God is helping me. It has been a process that didn't happen overnight. When I was a youth through my young adult life I battled with over eating. God blessed me with prayer, scripture and various books to learn how to overcome. But still if I don't overeat, does that necessarily mean that when and how much I do eat is necessarily the best choices?? Even my slim former athlete husband doesn't gain weight, but recognizes that he doesn't always consume the best fuel for his middle-aged body. Are we living our best lives that the Savior died to give us?

We have to rely on supermarkets and the occasional greengrocers for all our fresh fruit and vegetables as we don't have a local farmers market near enough to us. I love tomatoes but one of my favourite fruits is blueberries. I have them on my porridge every morning. I buy organic fruit and veg when I can but it can be so expensive but it does taste a lot better.

Love sliced tomatoes with salt and pepper. I am working a eating better, my diabettes is bad Im taking Insulin 2 times a day. If I cannt eat sweets and junk food, than I will have to suffer with fresh veggies and fruits.I can suffer with the best of folks.i spend abit more, but the fresh farm produce astes lots better than the stuff in the grocery stores.

The following was a news item on tv news text pages on 24th July, 2008.

Snack firms pledge obesity fight.

More than £200m has been pledged by several food and drinks companies including Coca-Cola, Kellogg's, Mars and Nestle, in a bid to tackle obesity. The funding comes amid a plea by the UK health Secretary Alan Johnson for help with the growing problem.

A consortium of firms headed by the Advertising Association, has offered air space, on-pack messages and cash. The Department of Health said the companies and coalitions would have to sign up to a set of standards.

My comment is about time. The snack food industry for far too long as been idle regards the problem of obesity, particularly in our children. No matter how well we get them to eat at home there are so many tempting foods out there that really are no good for them. I'm not saying that we could bar these foods from our lifestyle but we need to educate our children and ourselves with the possible harmful effects these foods can have. Once we train our taste buds we will soon develop discernment as to how these foods really taste.

This is What You are Saying...

"I sometimes have trouble telling right from wrong. I just thought maybe we could work toward an America in which no one wants an abortion as opposed to making it illegal and having people get it anyway in very dangerous environments. That's just how I see it. I guess I do want it both ways. I want to be both pro-life in terms of my personal life and pro-choice in terms of how I vote." Kaitlyn

Kaitlyn. I appreciate your honesty. However, this is in essence what you are saying, "I want a German in which no one wants to kill Jews as apposed to making it illegal and having them killed in very dangerous environments. I want to keep Jews alive in terms of my personal life and have them murdered in terms of how I vote." Nice.

Your "I sometimes have trouble telling right from wrong" pinpoints your problem. Atheism has no moral anchor. There’s no absolute right or absolute wrong. That’s why you can advocate murder and not feel bad about it, all in the name of compassion. In one sense, you may be right about not having a soul. So Kaitlyn, where is your conscience? Why have you so hardened it? If I were in your shoes I would very quickly cry out to God for His forgiveness, and trust Jesus Christ before it’s too late. Once you know His mercy, and once you let His love into your cold heart, you will be horrified that any human being could sink so low as to advocate the killed of children in the womb.

Resolution to the Argument

The issue of which is correct (evolution or Intelligent Design) is solved instantly, the moment any truth-seeking person humbles him or her self, repents of sin (read Matthew 5:21-30) and trusts Jesus Christ as Lord and as Savior. But many of you aren’t seeking the truth. You prefer to believe a lie because you love your sins. It’s as simple as that. See John 8:31-32.

You are Kidding

For those of you who still accuse me of misrepresenting the theory of Darwinian evolution, please check out this imaginary drawing from, The Future is Wild, a publication by leading evolutionists in which they imagine what fish and animals will look like in millions of years.

The pictured "megasquid" is the place that evolution will take the common squid--a "cephalopod" (there are around 786 distinct living species of cephalopods) in a 100 million years. This is a squid transitioning into another species--a much larger oxygen-breathing, land-dwelling animal, with elephant-like legs. These creatures developed lungs because (over millions of years) "at last, cephalopods had discovered an efficient means of breathing air." I guess their gills didn't cut it for them. So both the male and female evolved lungs while under the water and crawled up on the land together.

This is nothing to do with "common ancestory." This is one species turning into another.

These men imagine the future, and Darwin imagined the past. Both are science fiction. . . . and evolutionists have the gall to call such wild speculation "science."

The theory is nothing but a joke, but the issue is so great it's not at all funny.

Species to Species Definition

"'I have read most of Ray’s books, seen most of his videos and heard hundreds of his witness encounters, and as of yet have never caught him in a lie.' Then you are willfully ignoring data. Mr. Comfort engages in demonstrable dishonesty when he makes mention of transitional fossil forms, as he misrepresents the meaning of transitional in the context of fossils." Dimensio

I am often accused of lying, especially when it comes to saying that there are no "species-to-species" transitional forms. Before I explain what I mean, it’s important to know that there is some confusion as to the meaning of the word "species." This is what the dictionary says of the word: "Biology: the major subdivision of a genus or subgenus, regarded as the basic category of biological classification, composed of related individuals that resemble one another, are able to breed among themselves, but are not able to breed with members of another species." Wolves, coyotes and German shepherds are of the same species (the canine family or "kind"), but they can't breed with cats or tigers (which are the felidae family or "kind").

When I say that there are no species-to-species transitional forms in the fossil record, I am saying that nowhere will you find a skeleton of a cat evolving into a dog, or a chicken evolving into a fish, or a horse into a cow, no matter how long you go back in history.

As the Bible so rightly says, every animal brings forth "after its own kind." Both in the creation we see around us (and in creation we see in locked into the historical fossil record) is evidence against, not for, the theory of Darwinian evolution. All of nature screams of intelligent design. All of it. None even hints of Darwinian evolution. If you think that’s a lie, then so be it. God is my judge.

Today's Athiest Memory Verse

"Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead" (Acts 17:30-31).
