I am currently studying the issue of salvation and if it is possible to loose it. I have some thoughts my self, but I would be very interested to see what you think about the topic.

Is it possible to loose your salvation?

If it is possible, what scriptures would you use?
...and how do you loose your salvation?

If it is impossible to loose you salvation, what scriptures would you use?
...and does it mean that you can live in sin and still come to heaven?

Our Spirit has only one desire to serve our LORD !Our Spirit at salvation has HIS mind and nature Of course we are babies and need to mature!
1Co 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
WE are Called tested and tried then if we were willing to follow ONLY our LORD ?Then accepted as the elect!
Then born Again!

This is our spirit after salvation!
Eph 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

2Co 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

this is the seed our new spirit is born fron.if you notice it cannot be corrupted. sin corrupts

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
GOD does not lose us again!
JESUS does not lose parts of HIS BODY!

1Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
the confuse n is with the called not the elect!

1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

1Pe 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal

WE are NOT under the law ,So we cannot sin! In order to sin? We have to be under the law!
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pe 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
1Jn 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
1Pe 2:16 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
Jas 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

I don't really know, but I was saved many years ago and started walking back with the world.I pray that GOD will forgive me and restore his presence back into my life. From a back slidden Christian,I pray that GOD will show himself (again) in my life.Would some of you be in agreement with me for this? Thanks

Banks, if you have confessed to Him your sins and already repented, then you can be free of the guilt. He has already forgiven you and forgotten it. All you have to do now is believe that you are forgiven, and you are again in right standing with God.

And He never left you, even in your backslidden state. Not once. As a matter of fact, He is the one that brought YOU back to HIM.

Praise God!

I don't think that you can loose your salvation, but, I do believe you can cast your salvation away. Always know in your heart, that as long as you have breath in your body, God is waiting for you to ask Him into your life. " Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)."

But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes form the Lord. Jonah 2:9

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail. Isaiah 51:6

...,how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first anouced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. Hebrews 2:3

Godly sorrow brings repentence that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrows brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

To God be the Glory...Great Things He Hath Done!!! A-men & A-man -Thank You, Jesus.

If one walked in sin then they left God and he Left them.
You can only serve 1 master
Satan or God
Sin then you choose Satan over God

all you have to do is your first works over.
Repent and ask Jesus back into your heart then live it.

T.G.
When you come into God you are forgiven and your past is erased. Jesus died for us because he loved us and he when we decide that we are willing to surrender to him we are forgiven. I was backslidden also and when I was ready I surrendered to him and he has completly changed my life. Beyond anything I ever thought was possible but is why he is God and we are his children.

It’s been very interesting and educational to follow the discussion, and I thank all of you who have contributed.

Personally I think it’s important to make some distinctions:

1. Are we talking about loosing your salvation in a sense that you can never turn back again
2. Or are we talking about unconsciously walking away from God.

If we are talking about loosing your salvation so you can never turn back again, then I’m not 100% sure, but I believe that if that ever should happen… then you yourself would not want anything to do with God again.

Matthew 12:32
Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Hebreews 6:4-6
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

You also have the verse in Revelations talking about the mark of the beast, but I guess that maybe falls in to another category. At least for those of us that believe that the Church will not have to go through the tribulation.

Jesus says that no one can come to Him unless God draws him (John 6:44), so if you ever should come to the point of never being able to turn back, then I don’t think you would want to come back. I also believe that this have to be a conscious choice. So I don’t think it’s a matter of falling in sin, and then never being able to get back again.

As long as you have a desire for God, then I take that as a sign that God is drawing upon you.

When it comes to the issue of being able to “unconsciously walk away from God”, then I would say both “yes” and “no”. I believe that God always will warn us if we start to walk away from Him, but if we harden our heart and don’t listen, then we more and more will loose our spiritual hearing. The loss of your spiritual hearing can result in us unconscionably walking away. But then again, it’s we who first have refused to listen.

In Matthew 7:21-22 we see a group of people that were surprised that they did not come to heaven, and we also se this in the parables in Matthew 25. In all of these examples Jesus divides between those that actually do what God wants and those that don’t.

But again, if someone is in this state, and want to turn back to God, then I believe that God is standing with open arms, like the father waiting for the prodigal son.

We see in the story of the prodigal son that the father did not go out to get his son, but waited for the son to take an initiative and start to walk back. But the fathers arms was all the time open and ready to receive and forgive his son, whenever the son should choose to come home.

This is to everyone
It is probably the most important part of the word of God that we must understand as a believer.
If one can loose there salvation "which I can Prove 100percent that it can happen and people teach that it cannot happen then utterly millions of people that followed Satan with sin whom thought they had a free ticket to Heaven winds up in Hell then how would and will you feel when you find out you are wrong.
I will refute any scripture that one believes they cannot loose there salvation just post it to this comment .
I will not argue I will only give scripture ,the Hebrew and the Greek.
God Bless

if you can prove 100% percent that is possible to lose your salvation please inform us. I am not really looking for a debate but I would like to know the truth.
Thank you,
Carrie
